Crank Bait rods are specialty casting rods, designed specifically for utilizing crankbaits... properly! A good Crank Bait rod has a number of necessary elements required to make it a "good" Crank Bait rod! It has to fish a crankbait correctly... a soft, more moderate action that's soft enough to let the lures to work properly yet it has to allow the fish to inhale the bait while "winding" them on without them spitting the hook. A lot of bass fisherman still to this day believe that a glass crank bait rod is the only way to go!
