The Columbia blacktail is found in the coastal areas from British Columbia south to California.  A sub-specie of mule deer, the Columbia blacktail are smaller than mule deer but slightly larger than Sitka blacktail deer.  A large buck can weigh 200 pounds.  Dwellers of the coastal rainforest in British Columbia, Washington and Oregon, they can also be found in the more open country of coastal California.  A record book buck will score 135 inches.
